Program Improvement Watch List (PI)
Pajaro Valley Unified School District
2006–2007

Schools that don't meet the federal criteria for progress two years in a row are placed on a watch list for schools called Program Improvement (PI). There are five stages of PI, with stage five having the most serious consequences. (Click on a school’s name to see a one-page report.) This list is sorted on the third column, starting with the most recent year that the school first entered PI.

The federal benchmarks for AYP define three standards that schools are expected to meet. However, the California measures of progress define a rate of test score growth that schools are expected to attain each year. The differences that distinguish state and federal accountability systems are available on the cde web site.
