Diagnose grade-level problems

How can I tell which grade levels are behind in implementing Common Core math?

What we did: Compiled ten years of test data and visualized the relative position of their district by grade level, subject tested, and student subgroup (see orange bar).

What they did: Decided that sixth grade needed the most help in math, and focused resources there. They also looked back over the prior six years, to see if sixth grade problems were persistent. Then they shared the evidence with instructional leaders.
