The Spotlight report is short and sweet, ready to post online and print by mid-September. It contains the most recent CST, API and AYP results released only two weeks earlier. Principals use this at Back-to-School Nights. Include it in parent notification mailings about schools in Program Improvement. Give it to parents at parent-teacher conferences. Mail it home along with first grading-period report cards. COMPLIANCE PROFILE. This one-page report helps you meet the understandability requirement of the law. By posting your Spotlight reports online, you meet some of the federal laws' dissemination requirements. TIMING. Available by mid-September. AUDIENCE. These one-page reports are intended for everyone. Principals use these reports to explain conflicting signals when API and AYP are not aligned. Parents find these a helpful starting point when choosing schools. District leaders distribute these reports to parents in their enrollment centers. LANGUAGE VERSIONS. We publish seven foreign-language versions of our Spotlight report: Spanish, Chinese (simplified), Tagalog, or Hmong. SPECIAL VERSIONS. One version of this report is geared to the special reporting needs of continuation high schools. Instead of comparing continuation highs with all high schools, we compare them only with other continuation highs in the county and state. Another version is available for K-8 schools. PRINCIPALS' WRITING AND DISTRICT'S DATA. No writing from principals is included in this document, nor do we need data from the district. PRODUCTION STANDARDS. Online versions of these PDF reports appear in full color. PRINTING. Most districts choose to print this report, in addition to posting it online. If you want printed copies of this report, we can provide them in one color (black only) or full color.
